When she was drowned and swam - from the brooks into great rivers
The opal of heaven seemed very wondrous - as if to appease the corpse
Seaweed stayed with her - so that it slowly became much heavier
Cold was the fish, which swam at her body - plants weighed down her last ride

and the night held the light - in the balance with the stars
As her pale body rotted – away in the trench
It was slow as God – began to forget her
First her face starts to perish – then her hands and her hair
She became carrion – in the rivers which are running deep
The last parts of her body – they disappear
Now it’s time that God – finally forgot her
